IMPACT
The varied life circumstances, priorities, concerns and needs of adolescents and young people are addressed by SANKALP’S national-level innovative umbrella programme, Integrated Management and Promotion of Adolescent Concerns in Totality (IMPACT); which provide participatory, rights-based, culturally sensitive and innovative set of integrated actions. IMPACT encourages the healthy development of young people through quality education, professional and vocational trainings, income-generating opportunities as well as appropriate health services. The Organization is promoting access to reproductive health education, information and care for adolescents as a human right, based on gender equity and equality. The main goal is to empower adolescents; who face risk more complex than their previous generations; with life skills to enhance their ability to take responsibility for making healthier choices, resisting negative pressures and avoiding risk behaviours.
EMPOWER
SANKALP’S another innovation is the holistic and comprehensive programme - Education Mobilisation Participation and Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment and Rights (EMPOWER), meant primarily for women’s development and empowerment. The main components of the programme activities include; i) protection of women’s human rights and prevention of violence against women; ii) fostering equal access of girls; particularly those who are socially and geographically marginalized; in primary, secondary, and technical/vocational education; iii) providing information, education and care to adolescent girls to exercise their choices and decisions in reproductive health; iv) supporting community-centered and demand-driven reproductive and child health to the deprived and marginalized women; v) advancing gender equity and equality; vi) promoting the participation of women, both as agents and beneficiaries of development process as well as in the decision-making; and vii) encouraging economic empowerment of women through sustainable skill/ capacity-building, training, self-help groups and income-generating activities.
CARE
One of SANKALP’S creations is Creativity for AIDS Reduction Education (CARE), which seeks to harness the creativity of the in-school adolescents and use art as a powerful education medium to develop a cultural response to HIV/AIDS prevention in the school system in a participatory manner. CARE involves original production/work, interactive workshops/thematic exhibitions and artistic competitions in various performing, visual and literary art forms. Such programmes extend to intra-school /inter-school/State-level/zonal-level/national-level.
One of the prime plank of CARE is Theater Education for AIDS Control and Health (TEACH), which uses the intensity of theatre as the most effective medium among all art forms to propagate the themes and messages of AIDS prevention and control strategies among the young people in a culturally acceptable, fully understood and highly valued (culturally integrated) manner.

CREATIONS IN PERFORMING ARTS
SANKALP has enriched the cultural landscape of the country, with new creations in Indian performing arts, particularly in Indian classical dances. These creations have opened up creative capacities and imaginative perspective to work on new concepts, objectives, themes, identities, values, meanings and practices in Indian classical dances; within India’s vast and varied cultural traditions and ethos. The creations, as catalysts of creativity; advance the production, dissemination, diffusion and enhancement of the diversity of cultural expressions; most vibrantly manifested in Indian classical dances. The creations are a resurgence, reassertion and revitalization of India’s traditional cultural ethos - SANKALP’S humble tribute to India’s cultural pluralism in its most pristine forms.
